I’ve hosted over 80 mixtapes with artists since 2003 from Bad Lucc, Crooked I, Yukmouth, Bad Azz, Eastwood, Mac Lucci, Coolwadda, Damizza, Tekneek, Problem and the list goes on. I have also done numerous Various Artists mixtapes such as the ‘WestCoast Connectz’ series with features from the biggest names on a major and underground stage. I am the first DJ to ever drop a 3 disc mixtape of West Coast artists exclusives with ‘From My Block 2 Yours’ in 2007, over 90 tracks of exclusives.
I worked the clubs out in Sydney for a few years during mid-late 90′s. I also did a lot of functions from school proms to house parties in the mid 90′s and to date from time to time. I stopped working the clubs in early 2000′s and devoted my time to mixtape hosting, production and graphics. I still get a lot of offers to work the clubs but have too many commitments today with juggling all my work.
I’m currently working on releasing Gonzoe’s album, which will feature all my production. I have also started production on my street album due to release in 2011 entitled ‘Global Grinderz’, which will feature all upcoming and major west coast artists. In 2011 i’m set to be working on some major mixtape projects with cats such as Warren G, Turf Talk, HustleBoyz, Bad Lucc, Jayo Felony, J.U.S.T.I.C.E League, Willie B (TDE), Tweek Beatz, Frank Nitty, Rosevelt and many more. I have been DJ’ing since late 1995 when i was 15 years old and still going strong today.
-HOW DID DJING BECOME YOUR CAREER
I’ve always had DJ’ing as a job since i started in 1995, from selling mixtapes to doing house parties…i was always doing it for some ends or for the love of the music, i would say more for the love though. Since the early 2000′s i found my demand was a lot higher for hosting mixtapes and still manage to work at it devoting a lot of my spare time and money. I fund myself as a DJ but have a lot of support from Jazzy D and Jazzy Management as the President of Jazzy DJs. I also have the Western-4-Front group with DJ Clean & September 7th, which is about to make a lot of noise also. I cover my own work from the mixture hosting to the graphics and promo.
-WHAT YOUR ULTIMATE CAREER GOAL
Right now my goal is to start kicking off my production skills for the new year. I have achieved a lot on the DJ level and from being overseas and to work with artists in the US i respected growing up was truly a blessing. It has made my name buzz out there and all over the world really strong on the streets and i feel its because ive worked so hard at what i do without being hollywood on anyone coming up after they see me working with a mainstream artist. I stay loyal to all the artists doing their thing and respect everyone trying to give something back to this game.
I think you will find that once i get my production poppin there aint no limit to where i will go from there. Ive already produced for Tiny C Style, Techniec, Dynamic Certified, Gonzoe, Coniyac and a few more…for now its still under wraps but 2011 people will see.loyal to all the artists doing their thing and respect everyone trying to give something back to this game.
