PRODUCER - FOCUS…

- How did you get into producing?
I was pretty much born into it. My father, Bernard Edwards, was the bassist, co-founder and co-producer for the group CHIC, (I Want Your Love, Good Times, We Are Family, Etc.). Watching him throughout the years gave me the drive to be a producer…

Where did your love/interest for music come from ?
Again, from a young age, that was all I knew. I used to get into my father’s record collection and memorize the labels of the songs I loved hearing. At 2, I was turning on the stereo and putting records on. I knew at 8 years of age that I was going to be a producer, and no one could tell me otherwise…

What was your very first project ?
My first pro project was being signed to Street Life/ Scotti Bros. I had a single deal. The song was trash, (lol), but it got my name out there and i got to work with Eric B. (Eric B. & Rakim) and Epic from the production team of Wolf & Epic (BBD)…

-Who have you worked with ? Who do you want to work with ?
I’ve been honored to have worked with a lot of the big names like Dr. Dre, Beyonce, 50 Cent, The Game, Marsha Ambrosius, P!nk, Busta Rhymes and recently, Christina Aguilera on her “Bionic” c.d.. As for who I want to work with, I try to keep myself open to working with everyone. I rarely turn my back on an opportunity unless it’s an artist I don’t believe in or find talented…

-Which project made you feel like, okay, I have my foot in the door now ?
Oh, that’s easy… Beyonce’. First, I got on the project by the grace of GOD. Second, there was so much hype built up around her solo debut I knew it was going to be amazing. Plus, in the liner notes I saw Mr. Carter wrote on the records (Jay-Z) so I got crazy excited…

-Where do you see your career going ?
I am currently rebuilding my brand a.Fam Entertainment,Inc. and molding the careers of two incredible artists, Kida and Al Gator. I plan on signing more artists and putting out great music. I also plan on being a producer as long as I can make music. I might not stay in one genre, but I do plan on doing music for the duration…

Spot on with this write-up, I truly suppose this website needs rather more consideration. I’ll probably be again to read rather more, thanks for that info.
