While everyone else was writing essays for school TAJ’s teacher assigned him to a different project. A film camera in hand, and no clue of what to do with it, TAJ faced this challenge head on. With artistic blood flowing thru him already and strong influence from him mother and brother, TAJ did lots of research to perfect his craft. TAJ was determined to not just present a good project; it needed to be a great project. After discovering he was good at what he does, TAJ emptied his bank account to fund his first project. Having no experience he approached a local group and asked them if he could shoot their music video. TAJ shot the video for internet and only and after thousands of views and confidence through the roof, TAJ directed another video that ended up on MTV jams.

After shooting the video for HER0 by Nas, TAJ had another project in mind. This song was on the album but it was got going to be a single. The idea for the video was not to include NAS but to show a “strong imagery of what the music felt like, literally and metaphorically” The video was shot in East Los Angeles. A kid selling CD’s spotted TAJ, approached him and asked him what he was doing. Finding out the video was for NAS; the kid was ecstatic and started to recite NAS lyrics word for word. The kid was cast in the video. The video caused controversy, which was TAJ’s plan. MYSPACE pages were shut down if the video was posted and YOUTUBE, no matter how many times the video was posted, took the video down. The vide NAS – Y’all My Niggas can be seen at www.keepvid.com

TAJ’s biggest project to date is Rhianna – Please Don’t Stop the Music. But the project that means the most to TAJ is his first documentary. The documentary is titled MY FABOLOUS LIFE: THE DIARY OF JOHN JACKSON. This documentary steps away from the stage, music videos and bright lights. It showcases the life of a person, not an entertainer. The life of rapper FABOLOUS alone, with family and his son. This project means a lot because according to TAJ gaining some ones trust and them allowing you in, is a beautiful thing.

Up next for TAJ is the release of singer THE DREAM – SWEAT IT OUT video and a docu/film he just finished with singer RYAN LESLIE. In the future TAJ is looking to get in to feature films.
